Regency Rosewood 19th Century Breakfront Side Cabinet (England, 1820)

£5,950.00
A fine quality regency period rosewood side cabinet of breakfront form
Having original marble top above four silk panelled doors flanked by
Scrolling pilasters to each end with brass strung decoration raised
On original plinth base

(Often made to Stand in grand dining rooms as a versatile but elegant
storage option these cabinets were also made for drawing rooms and
even entrance halls due to their generally versatile dimensions. They are
more often than not found in just a two-door form, or occasionally in a
slightly longer three door form, but this example is much rarer due to its
four doors and charming breakfront design. It is constructed from a very
well figured cut of mahogany and the piece oozes elegance and class
throughout. There is a small, historic, repair to one corner of the marble
but the marble is original. The fabric to the doors is relatively recent and
therefore in pretty good condition, but the panels pop out easily enough
should a different shade, or style of fabric be required for a specific scheme.).
