A Delightful Late 18th Century Satinwood Oval Shaped
Tea Caddy Having Very Attractive Fan Inlaid Decoration
To Lift Up Lid And Oval Inlaid Panels To Sides With
Working Lock And Key

(Tea was of course a precious commodity in the 18th century and
tea caddies were used to both preserve the tea leaves,
but also to lock it away and protect it from any wandering
hands. This was a lovely example, constructed from attractive
satinwood with elegant decoration. The overall condition is good
and it comes with a fully functional lock and key)
